Cerro Alto CampgroundCerro Alto Campground located 7 miles east of Morro Bay on State Highway 41, and 7 miles west of Atascadero is a well-known Hiking and Mountain Biking paradise.
The campground is an easy 7 mile drive away from Morro Bay beaches which offers wide sandy stretches, surfing, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, scuba-diving and more. While the campground offers a serene, relaxed environment, both Morro Bay and Atascadero offer numerous dining opportunities, shopping, museums and other activities.
For the wine coinsure, Paso Robles, quickly becoming known as a premier spot for Central Coast wines, is a short 20 miles away. Wine tasting tours are offered daily, or you can choose to create your own tour selecting from the numerous wineries located in the area.
Cerro Alto Peak (2,624′) is the destination of Hikers, Bikers and Equestrians with its 360-degree view encompassing the Central California Coast and Inland Valley.
Also great as a staging place for motorcycles or cars day trips, you can visit the quaint towns of San Luis Obispo, Cayucos, Harmony and Cambria. Spend time relaxing at the many day spas located in Avila Beach or Gover Beach. Ride off-highway vehicles on the beach at the famous Pismo Beach. Or visit the historic Hearst Castle and take one of the many tours that are offered to the public. The campground has 22 units. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and most have a pedestal grill. There are 5 walk in sites.

Accessible from Hwy. 1 or Hwy. 101, this campground is situated 1,000′ above sea level in a verdant canyon pass astride a semiannual creek. The campground is an easy 7 mile drive away from Morro Bay beaches which offers wide sandy stretches, surfing, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, scuba-diving and more. Cerro Alto Campground is located 7 miles east of Morro Bay on State Highway 41, and 7 west of Atascadero is a well-known Hiking and Mountain Biking paradise. While the campground offers a serene, relaxed environment, both Morro Bay and Atascadero offer numerous dining opportunities, shopping, museums and other activities. Be sure not to pass up the spectacular seaside 18-hole championship golf course. For the wine coinsure, Paso Robles, quickly becoming known as a premier spot for Central Coast wines, is a short 20 miles away. The campsite must be occupied the first night and each subsequent night of the reserved period. If the site is not occupied by 7 a.m. the following morning the reservation is cancelled. The holder of the reservation will be charged a two day minimum or the total amount paid for the site, whichever is greater. No Refunds will be given due to weather or road conditions. Refunds will not be provided if cancellations are not made 24 hours in advance of reservation.

From Los Angeles take Hwy. 101 north through Santa Barbara, Goletta, Buelton, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach and Avila Beach to San Luis Obispo. From San Luis Obispo take Hwy. 1 toward Morro Bay and Hearst Castle to Hwy. 41 in Morro Bay. Take Hwy. 41 east to campground. From San Francisco take Hwy. 101 south through San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Salinas, King City, Paso Robles, and Templeton to Atascadero. From Atascadero take 41 wests to campground.
