Juniper Lake Campground - Juniper Lake

Juniper Lake Campground is located north of Juniper Lake Campground in the south eastern part of the park and is over an hour from the main park road. It is located near the east shore of remote Juniper Lake. The main trailhead for hiking to Horseshoe Lake, Snag Lake and the interior of the park is located in the Day Use Area.

Juniper Lake Campground at Juniper Lake provides many recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming. There are 2 individual group campsites. There are no RVs allowed at this campground, and should not try and risk the road there. There is no drinking water so remember to come prepared. This is a group campground so remember to make reservations.

Special Notes:
No potable water available, please bring your own drinking water.
Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
Tents only, Min 10-Max 15 persons and two licensed vehicles per site.
Entrance Fee is $10.00 per vehicle. Campers must have a valid entrance permit/pass before camping.
Pets must be on a 6′ leash at all times, must not be left unattended and are not allowed on park trails.
Boats with motors (including electric) are not allowed on the lake.
Bears may frequent area; all food must be stored in bear lockers provided at each campsite.

Juniper Lake Campground - Juniper Lake

Driving direction:
From the Red Bluff (I.5), drive east on state HWY 36 approximately 70 miles to Chester. Turn left at fire station immediately after crossing Feather River Bridge (watch for National Park Service sign on right) continue approximately 13 miles follow signs to Juniper Lake Campground and Group Campsite Area. Campground access is via paved and dirt road, last 6 miles is narrow, rough and dusty dirt road.
