Skillman Campground is located in the Tahoe National Forest at an elevation of 3700 feet and near Nevada City and three historic mining towns.
Skillman Campground emphasizes in horse use. There are corrals, watering troughs and hitching posts. The Pioneer trail can be accessed from Skillman and is enjoyed by equestrians, hikers, mountain bikers and cross-country skiers. Each single site accommodates 6 people, 4 horses and 2 vehicles. The group area is a collection of 5 sites that accommodate 36 people 24 horses and 12 cars. Large trucks and trailers will take the space of 2 – 3 cars.

Driving direction:
From Nevada City: Drive 14 miles east on Hwy 20 toward Truckee. Turn right into Skillman and make a left at the first road to reach the campground.
From I-80: Take Hwy 20 exit and drive 12 miles west toward Nevada City. Turn left into Skillman and make a left at the first road to reach the campground.
