Located at 4000ft, on the north shore of Union Valley Reservoir, Yellowjacket campground provides plenty of opportunity for outdoor fun. The boat ramp to the reservoir allows for plenty of water activities and fishing in addition to the many local hiking and biking trails.
Firewood is sold at the campground, but depending on weather conditions there may be fire restrictions. Contact the Eldorado Information Center at (530)644-6048 for local information and conditions.
Reservations are available from mid-June through Labor Day weekend. They can be made up to six months in advance but they must be made at least 3 days before your intended arrival date.

Special Notes:
The number of vehicles included with the price of the sites has changed to 1 for single and 2 for double sites. Vehicles above those numbers will be charged per day, per vehicle extra vehicle fee on site. There is a maximum of 2 vehicles per single site and 4 for double sites. A trailer or RV plus a tow vehicle count as the 2 vehicle maximum even though it is allowed with the price of the site.
There is a day per pet fee that is collected at the campground.
This campground has first-come, first-served sites.
Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends.
CAUTION: Bears and other wildlife are frequently in this area. All food must be kept in approved containers.

To reach this campground take Highway 50, east of Placerville.
Go 21 miles to Icehouse Road. Turn left on Icehouse Road. Go 21 miles north to Yellowjacket turnoff. Then go 1/2 mile to the campground entrance.
