Emma Wood State Beach is a protected beach in California, located west of the city of Ventura. The beach was named after Miss Emma Catherine Wood. With awesome beachfront camping and beautiful panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Emma Woods State Beach offers campers and day users an incredible place to unwind and soak up the golden rays of Southern California’s summer sunshine.
Emma Wood State Beach offers family camping for self-contained vehicles only and group camping is available at Ventura River Group Camp. Emma Wood State Beach offers primitive camping for fully self-contained vehicles ONLY
Emma Woods State Beach is an angler’s dream with a variety of species including surf perch, striped bass, corbina, cabaezon, mackerel, and halibut. Although the beaches are very rocky, once the tides are out, there are usually some sandy areas to walk or play on and make for fantastic surf fishing spots.

Emma Wood State Beach is located west of Ventura. The family campsites are two miles west on Highway 101 (State Beaches off ramp). Ventura River Group Camp is at the west end of Main Street in Ventura.
